THE PROPHETIC AFTER 2020 ELECTION

You are currently viewing THE PROPHETIC AFTER 2020 ELECTION

If you are any bit aware of the election of 2020 between President Biden and President Trump, you would know it was a big disaster for charismatic believers in the United States who had wholeheartedly approved President Trump as God’s choice for America. They dubbed him a Cyrus of sorts. Everyone from famous evangelist like Bro. Copeland to Apostle Maldonado proclaimed him to be God’s man.

That fateful night as the results rolled in, it was clear that there would be no new president for America, at least not until morning. Several states like Arizona and Pennsylvania became ground zero for election fraud claims, only worsening the situation for Republicans and President Trump.

Not long after Joe Biden was announced as the 46th president of the United States. Did God lie? Did these prophets miss? What happened? People like Dutch Sheets and Mario Murillo, seasoned evangelists encouraged us to give it time and promised that through prayer there would have been an appeal of the situation. Well, its almost two years later and nothing yet.

Those of us in Jamaica will remember the prophecy that former prime minister, Portia Simpson Miller would have won the election of 2005. When this well advertised prophecy wasn’t fulfilled, it dented the prophetic movement here in Jamaica.  What was happening in the U.S. was the same thing we had faced.

Don’t Stone the prophet!

There may be valid reasons why the prophecy was not fulfilled.  Chiefest of all, it was a wrong word, not a wrong prophet (who brought the Word).

1After David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.”

2And Nathan replied to David, “Do all that is in your heart, for God is with you.”

3But that night the word of God came to Nathan, saying, 4“Go and tell My servant David that this is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build Me a house in which to dwell. 5For I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypta until this day, but I have moved from tent to tent and dwelling to dwelling. 6In all My journeys with all the Israelites, have I ever asked any of the leadersb I appointed to shepherd My people, ‘Why haven’t you built Me a house of cedar?’ 1 Chronicles 17:1-3

Nathan and David were so close that the prophet Nathan gave prophetic approval out of his flesh and not from the Holy Ghost. Rick Joyner writing on the prophetic in his book, Prophetic Ministry, spoke about the party spirit. When a man of God is aligned to a particular party or belief system, it is difficult to perceive the mind of God. We don’t always get what we are praying for.

Believe Again

I want to encourage the Body of Christ to believe again. There is no development without disappointment. We allow for that everywhere in the world except in the Church. John 11:40 is God’s word to us. Don’t stop prophesying and don’t stop believing the Word of the Lord.

Do not scoff at prophecies … 1 Thes 5:20 NLT
